Weight loss journeys are as a harrowing experience as it is difficult to lose weight consistently over a period.
As a human, it’s natural to let go off track from the weight loss goals and then making a comeback becomes quite an effort.
There are several things we do unknowingly, that result in going off track from achieving weight loss results.
It is to be noted that we don’t gain weight overnight, it is a process and it takes its own sweet time.
But on the other hand, losing weight seems to take all the time in the world.
We realise about our excess weight when we start looking out of shape in our clothes and our own selfies become an eye sore and making all sorts of faces as well doesn’t give you the look you need.
Here are some reasons to understand why is to so difficult to lose weight consistently over a period.
What are we eating?
Its no more an ignored fact that the food we eat today, except the home cooked meals are far from healthy and have very little to offer in terms of nutrition.
When on a weight loss mode, special attention is to be given to the food that we are eating as it is the food which is going to make the difference in giving you actual weight loss results.
Many times, we tend to go off tract and gorge on unhealthy food and consume litres of beer or wine and the objective of losing weight is delayed every time we do it.
Cheat meals are fine but cheating every 3 to 4 days is not going to get you anywhere.
Eating is balanced meal is the key and not losing focus is more than important.

Inability to workout daily
It’s imperative that working out becomes a part of your daily routine. Even 30 mins of exercise will help in getting desired results faster.
Working out daily keeps your metabolism active and this helps in not letting the body add on excess weight when you are at rest or working in an office.
At least 5 days of workout per week should be achieved to get desired weight loss results.
If you are not working out enough, then it is going to be difficult to lose weight consistently over a period.
Stress is one of those factors which doesn’t do any good to the overall health.
When someone is under stress, a person loses control on the healthy habits which has taken some time and discipline to be inculcated.
When under stress many people unknowingly have the habit of gorging on food, especially junk food.
Having gone through the same experience, I can understand how it doesn’t seem to bother at all when you are under stress.
More than physical, its metal stress that seems to affect a lot, as it has become a primary reason for overeating, eating junk food and missing out on workout. This happens as the mind itself is not in a healthy state.
Stress makes it difficult to lose weight consistently over a period.
Make sure you come out of the stress mode as soon as possible. Staying happy, matters a lot.
20 mins of meditation and breathing exercises through Yoga, can channelize the mind in a right direction.
Not moving enough
Our bodies were never meant to be a rest for long hours. Gadgets like mobile phones and laptops have such a captivating effect on us, that we stay glued to them for hours.
Children are the most affected, as many of them hardly play out in the open and are spending more time on gadgets. Obesity in children is a growing cause of concern.
Forget about doing heavy work or exercising, people stay in the couch, bed or in the office chair for hours and this results in a very slow metabolic rate which add on extra weight to the body.
When at rest, why should the body work hard and provide you energy for no reason. It works, only when you make it work.
Not moving enough makes it difficult to lose weight over consistently over a period.
Do not use gadgets for more than 10 mins for useless reasons. Even while woking in the office, get up from the chair every 20 to 30 mins, take a small walk and sit again.
It also, doesn’t help if you work out for an hour every day and sit later for longer hours. So, keep moving while you are awake.
How much do we actually walk?
The minimum that we need to walk for a healthy lifestyle is 10,000 steps daily. Sadly, most of us don’t even make half of it.
Many working people, drive from their houses to work and they are worst affected as they reduce their changes of walking more as compared to those who use public transport.
I ditched my car for public transport and things got easier. I use a train and a bus to reach my workplace.
There is a lot of walking and using stairs in between my commute, so that helps a lot. My breakfast is well utilized.
People who work from home are in bad state if they are not going for long walks or are not exercising enough.

Lack of proper sleep can cause a lot of healthy issues and can also be the reason which makes it difficult to lose weight consistently over a period.
Sleep deprivation doesn’t conserve enough energy to expend throughout the next day.
Any excess food that you might have eaten, will have less chance to get metabolized and will be stored as fat.
Also, your recovery from fatigue and stress is hampered when you sleep less, this doesn’t let you reach a peak stage in your exercises and hence will delay your weight loss goals.
It is difficult to lose weight consistently over a period if you are not taking care of the above-mentioned factors.
If these factors are very much in your control, then achieving weight loss results can be easy.
