At some point of time in life everyone goes through hair woes and to take care of it one should focus of everyday food to prevent hair loss problems.
Having a healthy food which is rich in nutrients that support better hair health is of prime importance in day to day life.
After all, it is the food that we have, decides how great our hair is going to be apart from the genes which you have inherited.
Doing things like oiling your hair, shampoo, etc. do help in hair maintenance, but without proper food that supports good hair growth with thick hair, such things hardly do any good.
So, in a fast-paced life, where work and social activities take more of your time, if is difficult to focus on everyday food to prevent hair loss problems, both currently and in the future.
Knowing this, that I am not having anything healthy every day for my hair in particular, I though of making a combination of food that I can try to make and have it once every day.
Hair loss problems often start with certain deficiencies in the body and if not taken care of early, the problem may escalate to major hair loss issues.
They may also be one of the reasons for male patterned baldness to set in earlier than expected.
Fearing the same, I researched on the most important nutrients for proper hair growth and maintain healthy hair.
Overall what our hair needs is good amount of protein, Vitamin B12, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, magnesium, zinc and folate.
If we investigate our daily diets, most of us will find that we are probably not having all the important nutrients daily.
So, it makes sense to have an everyday food to prevent hair loss problems.
Here is what I did, I made a note of easily available food items which are great for hair care and can help prevent hair loss and made sure that I consume most of them daily.
A healthy snack which is easy to make, can be ready in minutes and which I can have everyday to prevent hair loss problems.
So, the food combination goes like this
- Proteins: Boiled eggs (to be taken separately), chickpeas, cheese
- Omega-3 fatty acids – walnuts and almonds
- Vitamin B6 – Bananas, potatoes
- Vitamin B12 – fortified cereal like cornflakes or muesli
- Zinc – Pomegranates, cashew nuts
- Magnesium – Dark Chocolate, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, bananas
- Folate – Lentils, oranges, strawberries
The main aim is to make sense of the combination in terms of reasonable taste which will help in consuming it for long term.
Here is what I prefer having daily at any time of the day, but not in the late evenings.
Some almonds, walnuts volume up with cornflakes fills up the bowl.
For a fruit, I like to switch between pomegranates or a banana to be added in the bowl.
Fill up the bowl with milk and you are ready for an everyday food to prevent hair loss problems.
Rest of the time throughout the day it is important to have good amount of protein in the form of eggs, cheese, chickpeas and other food stuffs like lentils and other fruits like oranges.
Make sure you are close to the required nutrients intake as mentioned above and don’t worry too much about the quantity of nutrients intake.
Its important to have these food combinations on a routine basis as an everyday food to prevent hair loss problems.
